SALISBURY, N.C. - For the first time in a long time, Livingstone welcomed more than 15 teams into Salisbury, N.C. to host and compete in the Blue Bear Invitational this past weekend. Over 700 participants and spectators flooded the Livingstone campus for the successful day-long event.
It was a successful day for the Blue Bears who saw the men's squad set nine personal records and the women's side set six. Livingstone placed top-three in numerous events and showed much promise early on in the season.Â
Notable Men's Highlights
- Brandon Jeffers sets PR in three distance events (800m, 1500m, 3000m), placing top-10 in all three races.
- Matthew Blackmon sets PR in 200m (22.35) and takes top spot in 110m hurdles (14.76).
- Truth Mattison places second and sets PR in 5000m (16:40.73).
- Chris Mulder eclipses top-3 in two events (High Jump, Long Jump) and takes sixth in another (Triple Jump).
- Jayden Mungo earns victory in 200 meters (22.03), setting a PR in the process.Â
- Jaivon Pegues sets PR and finishes fourth in Long Jump (6.97m)
