Softball Sweeps Allen University on The Road

COLUMBIA, South Carolina – The Livingstone College Softball team (3-12) Swept Allen University Wednesday afternoon at MLK Park

GAME ONE: 

Jada Starr-Wilson started things off for the Blue Bears by scoring on a wild pitch in the first inning. 

The Blue Bears added two more unearned runs in the second and fourth inning.

Madalyn Payne earned the win as she struck out 14, and allowed three hits, and two runs.

At the top of the sixth, Cameran Jordan-Ruffin scored on a passed ball giving the Blue Bears a 5-0 lead. Late in the sixth inning, the Yellowjackets scored their only two runs of the game.

Khala Porter had one hit, two runs, and three at-bats for the Blue Bears.

Cameran Jordan-Ruffin had two runs and four at-bats. Jada Star-Wilson had one hit, one run, and three at-bats for the Blue Bears. 

GAME TWO:

Khala Porter reached first on a passed ball, which allowed Jada Starr-Wilson to score an unearned run.

The Blue Bears took advantage of the Yellowjackets' poor defense with Cameran Jordan -Ruffin stealing second, and Khala Porter stealing home, 2-0.

J'Lnn Wilson got in on the action with a single RBI to center field. Bringing in Cameran Jordan-Ruffin, 3-0.

The Yellowjackets answered with one at the bottom of the first. The Blue Bears added three more in the third, and fourth inning.  

Stephanie Barksdale picked up the win as she struck out 11, and allowed five hits and three runs in 7.0 innings pitched.  

The Blue Bears closed out the game with a 2-0 run in the seventh inning. Ashleigh Clark scored on a wild pitch, and Madalyn Payne scored on a passed ball. 

Next Up...

The Blue Bears will host Bluefield State University Monday, April 10. The First pitch is set for 2:00 p.m.
