WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina – The Livingstone College Softball team (3-14) fell to Winston-Salem State University Thursday afternoon at Twin Cities Park.
GAME ONE:
The Rams got on the board first with two unearned runs and two stealing home, 4-0.
The Blue Bears scored all three of their runs in the second inning. J'Lynn Wilson hit RBI double to left field, Cameran Joran-Ruffin scored. Wilson then stole the third and scored on an error b the catcher.
Taylor Grant hit an RBI single up center field and Shardaye Yharbough.
Stephanie Barksdale earned the loss for the Blue Bears as she struck out four, allowed ten hits, and 15 runs.
Taylor Grant went 1-for-2 at the plate. J'Lynn Wilson had one hit, one run, and two at-bats.
GAME TWO:
The Blue Bears caught the Rams defense sleeping early by scoring in the top of the first inning. J'Lynn Wilson singled down to left field for two RBIs. Khala Porter and Ashleigh Clark scored for the Blue Bears.
Khala Porter picked up the loss allowing six hits and ten runs in 5.1 innings pitched.
The Rams added five in the second inning. Two more in the third and closed out the game in the bottom of the sixth.
