SALISBURY – The Livingstone College Softball team (4-17) dropped to Claflin University Sunday afternoon at Jaycee Optimist Sports Complex.
GAME ONE:
The Panthers got on the board first with three unearned runs and one RBI in the top of the first.
The Panthers added four more in the top of the fourth inning.
J'Lynn Wilson hit an RBI single to left field bringing in Ashleigh Clark.
Madalyn Payne earned the loss for the Blue Bears as she struck out five, and allowed ten hits and 11 runs in 5.0 innings pitched.
The Panthers added two more in the fifth inning to secure the 11-1 win.
GAME TWO:
The Panthers took an early 8-0 run in the top of the first inning.
Khala Porter hit an RBI single to center field bringing in Stephanie Barksdale. Porter then scored on a passed ball scoring an unearned run in the bottom of the second.
Khala Porter picked up the loss by allowing 19 hits and 21 runs in 5.0 innings pitched. Madalyn Payne went 1-for3 at the plate. Khala Porter had one hit and one run with two at-bats.
The Panthers added six in the fourth inning to secure the 21-2 win.
