SALISBURY – Livingstone College cross country begins its 2022 cross country season Friday when the Blue Bears race in the Blue Bear XC Invitational at Salisbury Community Park.
The competition features six North Carolina schools – Livingstone College, Winston-Salem State University, St. Augustine's University, Fayetteville State University, Central Carolina Community College, and Cleveland Community College.
"We welcome all the teams that will be joining us this week," said coach Justin Davis.
The women will run a 5K that starts at 9 a.m. ET, and the men will run a 8K scheduled to begin at 9:40 a.m. ET. The races will be staged on a mostly flat course with a few rolling hills.
"We usually do not begin our season at home, but beginning at home gives a little advantage to see where we are as a team while staying close." said coach Davis
Livingstone cross country coach Justin Davis, is entering his 15th season with the Blue Bears, "We had a young team in 2021, and now that we have a little more experience we expect to move up our rankings this year," said coach Davis.
"This is an extremely exciting time for us as we begin our competition season. Both the men's and women's teams are ready for Friday's opener."
