PLEASANT GARDEN, North Carolina – The Livingstone College men's cross country team recorded a third-place finish in the team standings while the women placed fourth Saturday afternoon in the 38th Greensboro XC Invitational at Hagan Stone Park.  

Fayetteville State University was first in the women's 5K competition, as the Broncos had five runners finish in the Top 10. Mercy Chemutai (3rd place, 21:14.29) joined Brenda Cheboi (5th place, 21:41.61), Nia Gibson (6th place, 21:49.16) Aaliyah Saunders (7th place, 21:58.88), and Sierra Beasley (8th place 22:00.61) in the Top 10.

Finishing outside of the Top 10 was Sydney McDonald (17th place, 23:10.53).

Fayetteville State University was first in the men's 8K competition, as the Broncos had four runners finish in the Top 10. Hillary Toroitich (1st place, 25:30.63) joined Derrick Kipchumba (2nd place, 25:31.95), Abel Mengich (3rd place, 28:08.25), and Brian Kiptanui (5th place, 28:53.51) in the Top 10.

The Blue Bears had two runners finish in the Top 10. Curtxavier Fryson with a season-best of (8th place, 30:35.91), joined Adrian Taranto (10th place, 31:54.94). Just outside of thr top 10 was David Bradford ( 12th place, 32:15.51). 

Livingstone College returns to action on Saturday, October 1, when the Blue Bears travel to the Cedric Walker HBCU XC Challenge.
