RICHMOND, Virginia — Silas Cruse found Navarreo Rorie for a six-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but Virginia Union secured two more touchdowns to lead the Panthers over Livingstone, 42-6, on Saturday Night at Hovey Field.
The Blue Bears fall to 1-2 and will return to action on Saturday, September 24 for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff at home against Virginia State on the CIAA Sports Network.
Trailing 21-0 late in the first quarter, Livingstone's defense showed resiliency by battling to keep the Virginia Union defense scoreless in the second quarter.
Will Tims led the Blue Bear defense with ten tackles. Followed by Terrance McPherson Jr and Jaden Echols with seven tackles in Saturday evening's game.
Silas Cruse accounted for 210 yards of total offense (198 passing, 12 rushing).
Lasirton Bryant led the Blue Bears in receiving with nine catches for 71 yards. Semaj Parker posted five catches for 54 yards and Mattew Henry added five catches for 49 yards.
