Livingstone College Names Clincy Trammell Head Tennis Coach

SALISBURY - Livingstone College Athletics has named Clincy Trammell IV as the Head Tennis Coach. Clincy Trammell IV, MBA/ MHRM comes to Livingstone from Catawba College where he was the Assistant Coach and Interim Head Coach for Men's and Women's Tennis. 

Mr. Trammell held several adjunct teaching positions at Catawba College and Mitchell College since relocating to North Carolina.

Previous college coaching experience includes serving as Assistant Men's and Women's Tennis Coach at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Coach Trammell served as a club pro for many years to students of all ages and served on the board with the USTA. Additionally, Coach Trammell has been a student of the game since the early 80s and kept up with the current trends. As a player, Trammell was in the top five in the state of Arkansas in the junior tennis division. Coach Trammell held regional and southern rankings before transitioning to collegiate competition at Tuskegee University.

"I am deeply humbled to have the opportunity to serve at Livingstone College," said Trammell. 

In introducing Coach Trammell, Director of Athletics Lamonte Massie-Sampson said, "Livingstone College is honored with the addition of Clincy Trammell. He will bring a new look to our tennis team. His coaching experience will help our women on and off the court. We welcome him to the family!"

"My mantra is, It's not about the shots you make, but how you react to the ones you miss," said coach Trammell. 

Trammell obtained his Associate Degree from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, a Bachelor's of Arts in Telecom Management from DeVry University, a Master's of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Business, and a Master's in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management in Atlanta, Georgia.

Trammell resides in Salisbury, North Carolina with his wife Denise Trammell.

Livingstone would like to officially welcome head tennis coach, Clincy Trammell and is looking forward to a dynamic first season. With the support of the athletics department and campus community, we know Trammell will make positive contributions to Livingstone College.
