Tiana Cephers Named Livingstone Athletics Sports Information Director

SALISBURY - On Monday, July 11 the Livingstone Athletic Department announced the appointment of Tiana Cephers as Sports Information Director. She will be responsible for the promotion and coverage of all Blue Bear athletic programs while handling website management, social media, gameday operations, and stat collection. 

Ms. Cephers comes to Livingstone after being the Sports Information Director at Bluefield State College. 

During her time at Bluefield State, Ms. Cephers was responsible for website management, social media, gameday operations, stat collection for 20 sports, and supervising a team of student workers. 

Ms. Cephers oversaw the promotion and coverage for all athletic programs. In addition to being the Sports Information Director, Ms. Cephers was an adjunct professor for the College of Business.

"We are excited to add Ms. Cephers to the Blue Bear family," said Athletic Director LamonteMassie-Sampson. "Her experience, leadership, and vision will help the exposure of our department and athletic programs, while also bringing stability to the sports information role."

Prior to Bluefield State, Ms. Cephers spent one year at Southern University and A & M College as the Associate Sports Information Director and the Assistant Director of Marketing and Development. During her time at SU, Ms. Cephers assisted game-day operations for football and basketball. She also managed the official Southern University Athletics website and the official social media handles for Southern University athletics. Ms. Cephers oversaw several sports by keeping game stats, handling media requests, and writing recaps.

Ms. Cephers earned a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism in 2018 and a Master's degree in Public Administration from Southern University and A & M College in 2020. While pursuing her master's, Ms. Cephers began working as a Graduate Assistant and was later promoted to Associate Sports Information Director before the conclusion of the degree. 

Livingstone Athletics would like to officially welcome Ms. Cephers. With the support of the athletics department and campus community, we know she will make positive contributions to Livingstone College.
