AUGUSTA, Georgia – The Livingstone Women's Basketball team fell to Augusta University Saturday afternoon in Christenberry Fieldhouse, 67-50.
The Blue Bears drop to 4-4, and The Jaguars improve to 6-1.
Samiyah Briggs led the Blue Bears with 11 points. Followed Jamiah Lane with eight points and six rebounds.
The Jaguars Tomiyah Alford and Kennedi Manning both recorded double-doubles. Manning finished with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Alford finished with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Livingstone shot 32.8% from the field (20-61) and 50.0% from the free-throw line.
The Blue Bears return to action Monday, December 12 when they travel to Limestone for a 5:30 p.m. ET tip-off.
The Blue Bears and the Jaguars kept it close in the first quarter. The Jaguars took a six-point lead with 3:30 to go in the first quarter with a layup by Tomiyah Alford, 14-8. The Blue Bear cut the Jaguars' lead to two at the end of the first quarter, 15-13.
Livingstone had 28 bench points opposed to the Jaguars' four. The Blue Bears were outrebounded 87-25. Which resulted in the Jaguars gaining 15-second chance points versus the Blue Bears five.
Livingstone scored 23 points off of turnovers. The Jaguars out worked the Blue Bears in the paint with 38 points versus the 26 for the Blue Bears.
