Alyssa Boyce Records a Season High of 26 points in Win Against Paine College

AUGUSTA, Georgia – The Livingstone Women's Basketball team picked up their first road win Thursday evening against Paine College in The Heal Complex, 96-60. 

The Blue Bears improve to 4-3, and The Lions drop to 0-6.

Alyssa Boyce led the Blue Bears with a season high of 26 points. Followed by Samiyah Briggs with 18 points and six rebounds. Jamiah Lane finished with 17 points and six rebounds. Varvara Papakonstantinou had a season high of 11 rebounds.

The Lions Jada Brooks finished with 20 points. Followed by Ashley Runio recording a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Adewunmi Aitba finished with 11 points and five rebounds. 

Livingstone shot 39.0% from the field (32-82) and 78.8% from the free-throw line.   

The Blue Bears return to action Saturday, December 3 when they take on Augusta University for a 1:30 p.m. ET tip-off.   

Livingstone went on a 7-0 run to start the first quarter. Alexis Lake committed two fouls to give the lions their first four points of the game. The Lions got the last four the first quarter to cut the Blue Bears lead to 13. 

Alyssa Boyce started the second quarter extending the Blue Bears lead with a three-pointer, 31-15. Varvara Papakonstantinou gave the Blue Bears a 25 point lead with a jumper from the paint with 4:50 left in the second quarter, 45-20. 

Alyssa Boyce hit her third three-pointer to give the Blue Bears a 30 point lead, 50-20. The Lions managed to cut the Blue Bears lead under 30 going into the half, 56-30.

The Blue Bears closed out the first two quarters 23 points off of turnovers.

The Blue Bears came out of halftime on a 7-0 run, extending their lead to 33. The Lions worked to keep the Blue Bears under 40. Ny'Asia Green had a fast break and completed a layup in the paint adding to the Blue Bear lead, 80-42. The Lions Jada Brooks scored the last two of the third quarter, keeping the Blue Bears from going up by 40.

Jamiah Lane put the Blue Bear one point away from a 40-point lead with a jumper in the paint, 91-52. Myah Beasley scored the last point of the night for the Lions, completing an and one with 1:17 left, 93-60. Samiyah Briggs hit a jumper to end the game, keeping the Blue Bears 30-point plus lead over the Lions. 

Livingstone scored 34 points off of turnovers. The Blue Bears scored 21 points off of second-chance points

Livingstone scored 34 points off the bench.
