RALEIGH, North Carolina – Livingstone College women's bowling team opened the 2022-23 season at the CIAA Event I. The three-day event (Nov. 11-13) was Livingstone's first time back on the lanes.
Livingstone placed fourth overall after going 2-10 in the three-day span.
Friday (Nov. 11), The Blue Bears (1-4) finished strong with a victory over Shaw University (657-642).
Livingstone finished Saturday with losses against Shaw University (717-542), Fayetteville State (804-552) where Carrington Hayward had an almost perfect score (189), and Johnson C. Smith (623-688).
The next day (Nov. 13), The Blue Bears defeated Fayetteville State in the second game during the third match, 711-694. Livingstone kept it close in game one against Fayetteville State, 718-687.
The Blue Bears dropped the first two matches to Johnson C. Smith, 778-650, and Shaw University, 715-625.
Sophomore Carrington Hayward ended the weekend third over all with a total pin score of 1584 and an average score of 176.00.
Shaw's Brooke Smith took first with an average score of 189.33 and a total pin score of 1704.

The Blue Bears will be back action after the New Year Friday, January 27 for the CIAA Event II. The first bowl is set for 9:00 a.m.
