CHARLOTTE, North Carolina – The Livingstone College men's and women's cross country team finished 23rd out of 37 teams Friday afternoon at the Royals Cross Country Challenge in Charlotte, NC.  

Ave Maria finished first in the women's 5K competition. Fayetteville State University finished 3rd,

Finishing outside of the Top 10 for the Broncos was Repline Cheptoo (12th place, 19:57.8).

Sydney Mcdonald finished 67th amongst a large field of athletes. Mcdonald set a new personal best time of 21:56.6 shaving :44 off her time. Nicole Diaz-Ubiera also knocked an entire minute off of her time, setting a personal best of 26:37.6.

Augusta finished first in the men's 8K competition. Fayetteville State University finished 11th. The Broncos had one athlete finish in the top 10 Hillary Toroitich (2nd place, 25:57.4).

The Blue Bears placed above Winston-Salem State University and Johnson C. Smith in Friday's meet. Curtxavier Fryson finished 137th place, 31:07.5). Chad Axon and Timothy Ridenhour made significant strides Friday afternoon. Both shaved just about three minutes off of their 8K times. Axon finished with a personal best time of 36:34.9, and Ridenhour finished with a personal best time of 36:48.8.

Livingstone College returns to action on Tuesday, October 18, when the Blue Bears host the Livingstone XC Invitational.
