SALISBURY – The Livingstone College men's cross country team recorded a third-place finish in the team standings while the women placed fourth Tuesday afternoon in the Livingstone Cross Country Invitational at Salisbury Community Park.
Winston-Salem State University was first in the women's 5K competition, as the Rams had three runners finish in the Top 10. Vanessa Jones (1st place, 20:08.1) joined Tinasia Davis (4th place, 22:10.7), Wynter Stample (8th place, 22:57.3) in the Top 10.
The Blue Bears had two runners to finish in the Top 10. Sydney McDonald (3rd place, 21:43.3). Mcdonald recorded yet another personal record for this year. Saa'Naudia Deloatch finished 10th in today's race with a time of 24:56.3.
Claflin University was first in the men's 8K competition, as the Panthers had four runners finish in the Top 10. Jakarriez Sanders (3rd place, 29:31.4) joined Caleb Patterson (4th place, 29:34.1), Reginald Gore (6th place, 31:01.6), and Zion Murry (7th place, 31:29.5) in the Top 10.
The Blue Bears had two runners finish in the Top 10. Curtxavier Fryson with a season-best of (5th place, 30:15.4), joined Adrian Taranto (8th place, 32:08.0).
Livingstone College returns to action on Thursday, October 27, when the Blue Bears travel to the CIAA XC Championship.
