SALISBURY, N.C.-
Terrance McPherson Jr. recorded a career and game high 10 tackles in Livingstone's several attempts to get traction on scoring but fell unsuccessful against nationally ranked No. 22 Bowie State in their 0-49 conference loss at Alumni Memorial Stadium on Saturday. Livingstone moves to 0-4 overall (0-1 CIAA) as Bowie State improves to 3-1 overall (1-0 CIAA).
In the opening drives, Bowie State struck first blow with seven plays that led to Ja'rome Johnson finding Quron Winder for a 27-yard touchdown with only 11:35 remaining in the first quarter. After the missed extra point, Livingstone tried to hold the veteran team to only 51 yards of offense in the second scoring drive of the game, however Bowie State showed the on field experience they possessed and punched a 31-yard rushing score making it 0-13 at the 7:20 mark. Bowie State would go on to punch three more trips to to the end zone to cap off their conference road game victory.Â

Sean Gilbert, " They are a truly experienced, disciplined and veteran team, they played team ball and it shows. We just have to work through these growing pains as a young team and find the balance that will give us the edge we need to secure the win. As I always say, chance favors the prepared man".
Livingstone will travel up route 64 to face off with Elizabeth City State on Oct 2. Kickoff is slated for 1:30 p.m.Â
