Blue Bears and Golden Bulls Battle on the Hardwood
SALISBURY - Livingstone College ventures to Brayboy Gymnasium to take on Johnson C. Smith University in a CIAA basketball doubleheader in Charlotte, N.C., on Saturday, Feb. 16. The men's contest begins at 6:00 p.m.
The Blue Bears visit the Golden Bulls in a pivotal men's contest. The Blue Bears are 6-2 in the Southern Division play while JCSU is 3-6.
The Blue Bears, atop the CIAA's Southern Division, fell to Fayetteville State, 77-69, on Wednesday night. Leading scorer Roger Ray, a junior guard, led Livingstone with 17 points. Lydell Elmore and Cameryn Carpenter each scored 14 points for Livingstone, while Malik Smith had nine points and nine rebounds.
Coach James Stinson's Blue Bears are now 15-8 overall and 8-6 in the CIAA.
The Golden Bull men dropped its third straight contest, falling short against the Claflin Panthers, 78-87.
Roddric Ross and Cayse Minor lead the JCSU effort with 32 and 24 points respectively. Nenad Milenkovic was the only other Golden Bull to finish in double figures.
This will be the second meeting between the two teams this season.
