SALISBURY, NC - Bryanna Brown and Joy Morton each sank a pair of free throws in the final 15 seconds as the regionally ranked Lincoln University women's basketball team withstood a late charge from Livingstone College to defeat the Lady Blue Bears 68-61 Saturday afternoon inside New Trent Gym in Salisbury, North Carolina.

Daijah Turner led the Lady Blue Bears with 15 points while Daisa Harris added 14. Darra Walker rounded out the Livingstone double-figure scorers with 12 points.

Lincoln shot 48% (24-50) for the game while Livingstone connected on just 36.5% (23-63) of their shots.  The Lions dominated on the foul line making 18 of 26 shots (69.2%) while the Blue bears made just six of ten.  The Lions were also dominant on the glass, outrebounding LC 40-28.

With the loss, Livingstone falls to 3-4 overall and 1-2 in league play.  The Lions (#5 in Atlantic Region media poll) improve to 8-1 overall and 3-0 in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association games. 

After finishing up its brief home stand, Livingstone gets back on the road, traveling to Fayetteville to meet the Lady Broncos of Fayetteville State.Monday evening (December 9)

Tipoff is set for 5:30'p.m. in Capel Arena on the campus of Fayetteville State University in Fayetteville.
