Livingstone's Women's Basketball are on a three game winning streak

RALEIGH — The Lady Blue Bears winning streak continues as Livingstone College women's basketball defeated the Lady Falcons of Saint Augustine's University with ease, 61-43, Wednesday night at Emery Gymnasium, in a CIAA Southern Division matchup.

The Lady Blue Bears, were down very early 7-0 in the first quarter, but went on a nine to two run and never looked back. LC shot well in the first half 13-of-32 and committed just six turnovers while taking a commanding 17-point halftime lead 36-19.

Livingstone, largest lead in the entire game was 22 points and by the end of the third quarter, the lead was 50-30.

The Falcons shot a 29 percent 9-of-31 in the opening half and turned the basketball over 15 times. St. Aug's was 0-of-9 from behind the 3-point arc in the first 20 minutes and 2-of-21 9.5 percent for the game.

This victory was the third straight for Livingstone. The Blue Bears improve to 6-15 overall and 3-8 in the conference.

Daisa Harris, led the team with 16 points. Adel Allen scored 13 points, and Asia Green added 11 points.

Shankia Clark scored a game-high 18 points for St. Aug's, and also grabbed eight rebounds.

Livingstone road trip continues on Saturday, at Winston-Salem State for a 2 p.m., tipoff.
