WBB gets second divisional win over Shaw, 85-70

RALEIGH – Two straight wins and counting as the Lady Blue Bears defeated the Bears of Shaw University 85-70 in CIAA action in Spaulding Gymnasium on Monday night.

Daisa Harris led the way with 25 points for Livingstone. She was 10 for 20 from the field, connecting on two of four three pointers and was perfect from the line three for three. 

LC had no problems coming out the gate, when Harris gave the Lady Blue Bears the 3-2 lead. From there it was off to the races. LC went up as much as 19 in the first half. Even with the height advantage for Shaw, LC controlled the game using all five guards.

Other scores for LC in double figures, Asia Green dropped 18, while grabbing eight boards, Darra Walker scored 14 as she went four for 14 from behind the arch. Adel Allen and Kyala Searcy both chipped in 10 points each.

LC shot 43 percent from the field (36 of 82), and from the line shooting 71 percent, shooting 5 of 7. In the first half they didn't shoot any free throws.

Shaw had three players in double figures. Amani  Moxley and KlinTisha Martin each had 19 while Taylor Royster chipped in 16 for the Bears.

The win improves Livingstone to 5-15 overall 2-8 in the conference and 2-1 in the southern division.
