WBB Falls to VSU, 85-72

SALISBURY – After battling through four lead changes in the first half, the Livingstone College women's basketball team used a big fourth quarter but fell short to the Trojans of Virginia State, 85-72 in CIAA play on Saturday afternoon at New Trent Gym.

The Lady Blue Bears were able to hold the Trojans to just 54 percent (7 of 12) from the three point line on the night while forcing 25 turnovers. LC converted those turnovers into 24 points and dominated the fast break points, outscoring VSU 12-0.

LC had two players score in double-figures, led by Daisa Harris 30 points. Harris would finish 11 of 19 from the field and 6 of 10 from the line. She also brought down five rebounds for LC.

Darra Walker finished with 19 points.

For the Trojans, Chrisanna Green scored a game-high 30 points.

The win improves the Trojans to 7-5 overall and 2-2 in CIAA play while Livingstone drops to 3-12, 0-5 in league play.

LC will continue CIAA play on Monday, Jan. 14 when they host Chowan in CIAA Cross Divisional play. Game time is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
