Four Game Win Streak Snapped by Va. Union

RICHMOND - Virginia Union University snapped Livingstone College four game winning streak by the defeating the Blue Bears 82-76 on Saturday, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Lydell Elmore led the Blue Bears with 17 points and Roger Ray contributed with 15. Ray also dished out nine assist on the night. Twin Brother Navar Elmore led the team in rebounds with seven.

Jordan White scored a career-high 26 points and Demarius Pitts, also 23 points in the win. Virginia Union's Jemal Smith scored 10 points and had six steals while Will Jenkins led the Panthers on the boards with 13 rebounds.

The Blue Bears shot 47% from the field making 29 of 62 shots and went 4 of 17 from behind the arch.  From the line LC went 51% connecting on 14 of 27.

The win raised VUU's record to 4-6 overall and 1-1 in CIAA play.  Livingstone falls to 6-3 overall and 0-1 in the CIAA.

Livingstone will face the Lions of Lincoln University on Monday, December 17, at 7:30 p.m.
