Basektball on the road to Va. Union
SALISBURY — After a 10-day layoff for end of semester academic duties, Livingstone's basketball teams return to action today in a CIAA doubleheader. Both team will face off with Virginia Union University, for a Saturday doubleheader, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Today's game will be the first conference game of the season. The Lady Blue Bears' last outing was a 83-57 loss at Catawba Dec. 5.
Livingstone is led by the scoring of three guards — Daisa Harris, who averages 23.4 points per game, Darra Walker, who will return after an ankle injury today averages 16.3 points per game and Adel Allen with 10.0.
On the men's side, Coach James Stinson's Livingstone squad is 6-2 overall after just playing eight games thus far this season. The Blue Bears' last game was a 68-66 win at Paine on Dec. 3.
Livingstone has three players averaging in double-figure scoring. Roger Ray and Lydell Elmore lead the way with averages of 17.9 and 12.5, respectively.
