WBB falls to Benedict, 56-46

COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Lady Tigers of Benedict College defeated the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College 56-46 on Tuesday night in the Benjamin E. Mays HRC Arena.

The game was tied 11-11 after the first quarter. Livingstone had as much as a four-point lead, 17-13, in the second quarter, but Benedict rallied to take a 23-21 lead at the half. The lead bounced back and forth in the third quarter with Livingstone's Daisa Harris scoring a buzzer-beater layup to give the Lady Blue Bears a 40-37 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Guard Daisa Harris led Livingstone with 14 points, 5-for-20 shooting from the floor. Asia Green followed with 12 points and Adel Allen added 10.
 
As a team, the Blue Bears shot a 26 percent (16-of-62) from the field, including 2-of-16 from the 3-point arc. Benedict struggled as well, shooting 31.4 percent (22-for-70). Benedict outrebounded on the boards, grabbing 66 rebounds, double Livingstone's 34 rebounds
 
Benedict Ay'Anna Bey had 26 points and 20 rebounds for the Lady Tigers.
 
The Lady Tigers improved to 6-1 overall with their sixth straight win. Livingstone falls to 3-4.

Livingstone returns to action on Dec. 5, making a short trip over to Catawba for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
