Blue Bears fall to Broncos, 45-7

FAYETTEVILLE – For the second straight week the Blue Bears played as the homecoming opponent, this time Fayetteville State used a balance attack to defeat Livingstone 45-7, on Saturday afternoon.

FSU scored the first points of the game with a four-yard run into the endzone with 12:58 on the clock. Fayetteville then racked up points on two touchdown passes from 11 yards and 43-yards which gave the Broncos a 28-0 halftime lead.

Ryan Williams got the nod as the starting quarterback for the Blue Bears. Williams completed 14 of 26 passes for just 94 yards and two interceptions
After halftime, FSU's Tyeous Sharpe returned a Livingstone punt for a 62-yard touchdown early in the third quarter as FSU built a 35-0 lead.
 
The only Blue Bears score was when Williams passed for a 22-yard touchdown to Anthony Faraimo in the fourth quarter.

Fayetteville State finished the game with 410 yards of total offense compared to the Blue Bears 129. FSU threw for 208 and ran for 130. LC had a net 35 yards rushing.
Keshawn Ward led the Livingstone defense with eight tackles, followed by Walter Watkins and Armond Cox with seven stops each.

The win was the Broncos' fifth straight and moves their record to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the conference. Livingstone, losers of five in a row, falls to 2-6 and 0-5.

Next Saturday, Livingstone travels to Johnson C. Smith for the annual Commemorative Classic, scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff in Charlotte.
