Blue Bears In CIAA Play At Chowan
SALISBURY - With just one day of rest, the Livingstone College men's basketball program is back in action Monday, as the Blue Bears are on the road again in Murfreesboro, North Carolina, as they go against the Hawks of Chowan University at 7:30 p.m., in the Helms Center.
The team will then play its third game in five days on Wednesday as it hosts Bowie State in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
Livingstone has three players averaging double-digit scoring: guard Roger Ray with 18.8 points, guard Cameron Burhannon with 13.3 points, and guard Ramel Belfield at 13.3 points. The trio have combined for 41 three-pointers this season. Defensively, Ray owns 11 steals and Navar Elmore has 20 blocks.
Chowan Men's Basketball team snapped a seven game skid, as the Hawks used a balanced scoring attack to down Winston-Salem State, 82-65, in cross-divisional play in CIAA action on Saturday evening.
Four players reached double-figures for the Hawks, led by Demetrius Sanders scoring 19 points on 7-11 shooting from the floor. Gus Rowland chipped in with 18 along with Tim Hewett (16) and Robert Grubbs (12).
