Shaw Too Strong for Livingstone

SALISBURY – Defending CIAA Champion Shaw University was a little too strong for the Blue Bears, as the Bears defeated LC, 3-0 in CIAA volleyball action at New Trent Gym.
 
The match was the CIAA Southern Division volleyball opener for the Lady Blue Bears after coming off a two game win streak.
 
Livingstone, falls to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the CIAA, while Shaw is 11-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play.
 
Livingstone's Ajia Long had a game high of nine kills and Jekisha Rhymes added four kills. Stevee Cotton finished the night with 15 assists. Both Long and Rhymes each had seven digs.
 
For Shaw, Keveesha Wattley and Kelly Murphy both led with nine kills on the night.
 
The Blue Bears are back on the road on Monday, Sept. 25 to face CIAA foe, the Broncos of Fayetteville State University inside of Capel Arena. Match time is 6 p.m.
