LC MBB Falls to No.2 Queens College

CHARLOTTE — Livingstone College men's basketball squad opened their 2017-18 season with a loss to the No. 2 team in the nation, Queens College, 104-60 in the opener of the JCSU Tip-off Classic. The Classic was hosted by Johnson C. Smith University at Brayboy Gym.

The Blue Bears had to dig from being down 5-0, in the first half, but the Royals went on a 17-6 spurt. At the half, the Royals led 48-26.

Sophomore guard Roger Ray made 5 of 10 3-point attempts and ended up as the game's high scorer with 22 points. Malik Smith followed with 10 for the Blue Bears. Ramel Belfield
and Ja'Cory Livingston each chipped in seven points apiece.

Livingstone made just 17 of 64 shots for the game and was outrebounded, 48-35. The Blue Bears had four steals in the game.

Livingstone (0-1) will play Benedict today in the tournament's first game at 2 p.m.
