LC Volleyball falls to Saint Augustine's 3-1
SALISBURY – Livingstone College volleyball team fell to Saint Augustine's University 3-1 in a CIAA volleyball match on Monday, at New Trent Gymnasium in Salisbury, N.C. Both teams came in with identical conference records, but the Lady Falcons won 15-25, 25-18, 18-25 and 20-25.
LC jumped out early, taking set two 25-18. SAU was able to rebound, taking the final two sets to end the match.
Livingstone was led by Jekisha Rhymes with nine kills and Ajia Long with eight kills. Kierra Acuff had 17 assists and 15 digs for the Lady Blue Bears.
Shakera Hall had a match-high 17 kills, six digs and four assists, and Mechelle Moss recorded 10 kills, seven digs and two service aces for the Lady Falcons.
The loss drops LC to 3-10 overall, and 3-7 in CIAA play while SAU improves to 4-6 and 4-6 in league play.
The Lady Blue Bears host Winston-Salem State University at New Trent Gymnasium on Thursday, Oct. 12. The match begins at 6 p.m.
