Volleyball Topples at Fayetteville State

FAYETTEVILLE – Jekisha Rhymes had a game high of eight kills for Livingstone College, however the Lady Blue Bears fell to the Broncos of Fayetteville State three sets to none on Monday night.

Rhymes added 11 digs for Livingstone, as they dropped to 0-2 in the Southern Division, 2-3 in the CIAA and 5-6 overall.

One other player including Rhymes tallied recorded double figures in digs. Rukia Garland had 16 digs, while Stevee Cotton handed out 17 assists and added eight digs.

Samira Luis totaled 12 kills for the Broncos. Arlicia Ortiz tallied 23 assists.

The Lady Blue Bears are on the road again to compete in the CIAA Round-Up II this weekend. The Round-Up will be played at the C.E. Gaines Center on campus of Winston-Salem State University.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, the Livingstone will face Chowan University at 11 a.m. and Virginia State University at 3 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 2, they square off against Elizabeth City State University at 1 p.m. All three matches will be played on campus.
