LC Basketball takes on Lincoln in CIAA Action

SALISBURY — After a 10-day layoff for end of semester academic duties, and a CIAA conference game, Livingstone's basketball teams return to action today in a CIAA doubleheader. Both team will face off with Lincoln University (Pa.), for a Tuesday doubleheader, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

For the women's team of first-year coach Tiffany Silver, today's game will be the second conference game after going 3-4 in seven non-conference contests. The Blue Bears' last outing was a 57-46 loss at Bowie Dec. 11.

Livingstone is led by the scoring of three guards — Zena Lovette, who averages 16.4 points per game, Brittany Taylor (14.7) and Ari DeJesus (14.0).

On the men's side, coach James Stinson's Livingstone squad is 2-3 overall after just playing five games thus far this season. The Blue Bears' last game was an 60-72 loss at Bowie on Dec. 11.

Livingstone has three players averaging in double-figure scoring. Newcomers David Duncan and Eric Dortch-Jones lead the way with averages of 14.0 and 13.5, respectively.

Returning veteran Jimmy Wilson follows at exactly 11 points and 11 rebounds per game.

Duncan, a 6-8 senior transfer from West Texas State A&M, is also averaging 11.3 rebounds per outing.
