Livingstone falls 3-1 to Lady Falcons on Senior Night

SALISBURY, NC  – A very much needed win to clinch a spot in the CIAA Tournament, however Livingstone College fell to Saint Augustine's University  3-1 in Salisbury, N.C.

The Lady Falcons won 25-22, 25-19, 23-25, 25-17 on Monday night, in New Trent Gymnasium. Jekisha Rhymes and Ajia Long paced the Lady Blue Bears with seven kills.

Rhymes paced the Lady Blue Bears with match highs of seven kills and seven digs in addition to six blocks, and Long added seven kills and two digs and a service ace.

Interim Coach Candace Pait was pleased with the team's effort and how they came out to play for its final home game.

The only category where Livingstone had success was blocks. Endea Woodle tallied nine blocks in addition to six kills, while Stevee Cotton finished with 21 assists, four blocks and eight digs.


It was senior night as the Lady Blue Bears honored its lone senior Rukiya "Rock" Garland.

On Friday, Nov. 11,  Livingstone will conclude the regular season with an away match against rival Winston-Salem State University at the C.E. Gains Center. First volley is set for 6 p.m.
