Blue Bears Outlast Lincoln (PA) 79-47

The Livingstone College men's basketball team defeated the Lions of Lincoln University (PA) 79-47 in New Trent Gymnasium on Monday Night.

The Blue Bears had four players to score double figures.

Although the Lions jumped out to a six point lead in the first half, The Blue Bears controlled the tempo of the game. Jody Hill highlighted the night with his sharp shooting, as he hit five-of-seven shots from behind the three point line. Hill hit four of those shots within the first 10 minutes of the game. Hill finished the game with 18 points, 17 points in the first half.
The Blue Bears ended the first half with a huge lead at 40-24.

The Lions managed to pull within nine points at the 15:34 minute mark, but that was a nonfactor compared to the pressure the Blue Bears put on the Lions.

The Blue Bears forced the Lions to commit 12 turnovers in which they converted them into 15 points. There was great chemistry with the Blue Bears. The Livingstone bench also played a major role in their success. Coach Stinson went six players deep to contribute 33 points collectively.

Eric Dubose brought much energy to the game with his outstanding ball handling skills and managed to always wow the crowd with his courageous passing ability. He finished the game with 10 points.

Mark Thomas and Cameron LeFear contributed 15 and 11 points respectively. Thomas recorded five rebounds and five assists.

The Blue Bears are now 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

Livingstone will travel to Elizabeth City, NC to face Elizabeth City State University on January 9. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m.
