The Livingstone College volleyball team dominated the Shaw University Bears in New Trent Gymnasium, sweeping them 3-0 (25-21, 25-18, 25-15). The Blue Bears improve their record to 7-3 overall.

The Shaw Bears gave the Blue Bears some stiff competition as they went point for point the entire match, leaving the Blue Bears little room for error.

The Blue Bears, Shedella Smith's 16 kills on 25 attempts followed by Carrie Blunt's 11 kills, were a force at the net. Livingstone recorded 35 kills; compared to the Shaw Bears 19.

Livingstone will return to action on September 19 as travel to Sumter, SC to face the Morris College Hornets. Game time is slated for 6:00 p.m.
