The Livingstone College volleyball team swept Bluefield State College in three straight sets 25-16, 25-14 and 25-7. Carrie Blunt led the Blue Bears with six kills, five service aces and eight straight points in the second match.

The Blue Bears played very aggressive against Bluefield. The Blue Bears forced 24 errors on Bluefield while they only committed 12 errors themselves.

Shedella Smith was also a force at the net for the Blue Bears. Smith followed Blunt's performance in the front row with five kills and three blocks. She also tallied two service aces.

LaPria Saunders also played well for the Blue Bears. She finished the contest with 15 assists, four service aces and one block.

The Blue Bears improve their record to 3-2 overall.

The Blue Bears will begin CIAA play on Saturday, September 14 as they face Virginia Union University. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m.
