The Livingstone College volleyball team began their 2012 campaign undefeated by crushing Edward Waters College (3-0), and Florida Memorial University (3-1) in the FMU Volleyball Tournament in Florida.

Led by Senior, All-CIAA Pre-season pick Phylicia Egbuna, The Lady Blue Bears swept Edward Waters by winning three straight sets (25-23, 30-28, and 25-18). Egbuna totaled 14 kills and one service ace.

Against tournament hosts Florida Memorial, Livingstone rallied three straight sets (25-17, 25-22, and 25-21) after Florida Memorial won the first set 25-21. Egbuna also led the Lady Blue Bears with 11 kills, while Lareecia Swiney tallied nine kills and Gareesa Henry with six.

Livingstone improves their record to 2-0.

The Lady Blue Bears hit the road to Sumter, SC to face Allen University and Morris College on September 4. The first match is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
