The Livingstone College Volleyball team defeated the Shaw University Bears in a four set match (25-23, 21-25, 25-17 and 26-24) in New Trent Gymnasium on Thursday.

This CIAA matchup proved to be an intense one with the Shaw Bears playing very aggressive and not allowing the Blue Bears room to breathe.  In every set both teams played point-for-point. The Blue Bears capitalized on the Shaw Bears mistakes resulting in Livingstone taking sets one, three, and four.

Livingstone was led by Senior, Phylicia Egbuna's 17 kills, and five blocks. Lareecia Swiney also had a strong presence on the win with ten kills, and two blocks. LaPria Saunders tallied 34 assists and four blocks.

The win improves the Blue Bears overall record to 17-4.

Livingstone hits the road to face Spelman College, October 13.
