Sylvia Dickerson first began her career in nursing in 1981, when she graduated as an LPN. She followed this degree with an Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1993. After 11 years, she went back to school and graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing, and in quick succession received her Master’s of Science in Nursing and credentials as a Family of Nurse Practitioner from WSSU in 2009. She has been working for Novant Health: Farrington Family Medicine for 10 years.
Ms. Dickerson is a member of the First Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Claude Forehand. She has been married for over 37 years, and has two daughters, a son-in-law, and a grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family, fishing, eating and taking her grandson skating every Friday night.
Sylvia Dickerson serves as a provider for general medical issues for the student-athletes at Livingstone College.
She has been working with Livingstone College Athletics for the last six years, and has a holistic approach to treating student-athletes with either sports related or personal issues.
