Gwen Jackson

Coach Jackson became the 1st female Head Coach of Livingstone College's Women’s Tennis Program in 2010. 

Coach Jackson played competitively from 2002 through 2008 in the ALTA League in Atlanta Georgia.  

She was the runner up in the inaugural championship tournament sponsored byThe 100 Black Men of Charlotte Wilkerson Tennis Center,  In 2013 Livingstone College tennis program received its first all CIAA Conference Team selection.

Her current professional career has spanned for over 25 years as a Lead Consultant with Urban Strategies and Marketing. Coach Jackson was the Sports Marketing and Special Event Liaison in 1995 and 2009 for the historical Commemorative Classic Celebrating “The Birth of Black Football” between Livingstone College and Johnson C. Smith University.

 

Coach Jackson attend school in Salisbury including Monroe Street Elementary, Knox and Salisbury High. Coach Jackson attended NC A& T State University, and Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY previously.  She was awarded her BA Degree in Corporate Communications from Queens University, Charlotte, NC in 2001.Coach Jackson is a founding member of the 1st Cohort for the  Center for Urban Redevelopment Excellence Fellowship at  the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia Pa.

She is the daughter of William T. Jackson, Sr, (Livingstone '98) and Pearlena Jackson.  Coach Jackson is the mother of one son, Brandon and has two grandsons, Maurice and Elijah.
