Donte Minter joined the Livingstone College women's basketball staff in June 2023. Donte began his coaching career in 2012 as an assistant coach and has since coached across many levels of basketball. He has held roles as an assistant coach at Woodside High School (2012-2014), Salem High School (2014-2015), Norfolk Christian School (2014-2017),  and Regent University (2021-2023).
Donte played professionally in Europe for four years. Donte's first year in Portugal he led the team in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots. Donte was voted into the all-star game. Donte played his second year in Spain but was plagued by injury. Donte's third and fourth years he played in Holland.
He was the 2nd leading scorer on the team and led the team in rebounds and blocked shots. He helped lead his team to the playoffs for the first time in 10 years.
As a Senior (2007-08), Donte was a Mid-Major Preseason All-American, 1st team All-Southern Conference. He led the Mountaineers to an 18-12 record. Donte averaged 15.4 points and seven rebounds while he converted 61.4 percent of his shots. He led the Mountaineers to a win at Arkansas with a stat line of 20 points, nine rebounds, six blocks, six steals, and six assists.
Donte Averaged over 20 points and ten rebounds a game at Fork Union Military Academy during the 2002-03 season. As a senior at West Rowan High School in 2001-02, the team compiled an overall record of 30-0 and won the North Caroling AAA State Championship. He scored 29 points in the state championship game and was the Most Valuable Player of the State Championship, the West Regional, the county, and the North Piedmont Conference as a senior. 
Donte was selected Player of the Year by the Charlotte Observer and was a second-team All-State selection. West Rowan compiled an overall record of 109-11 during his four years on the team, and he finished his high school career as the second-leading scorer in school and county history.  He scored over 2,100 points during his high school career and had over 1,000 rebounds and over 500 blocked shots.
Donte graduated from the Appalachian State University in 2008 in Criminal Justice.
