FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Livingstone College women's basketball dropped an 81–55 road contest to Fayetteville State on Thursday night inside Capel Arena. The Lady Blue Bears struggled to find an offensive rhythm early, falling behind 19–9 in the first quarter and entering halftime down 44–20.
Despite the slow start, Livingstone continued to battle, outscoring the Broncos 20–18 in the fourth quarter and controlling the offensive glass with 17 offensive rebounds, leading to 22 second‑chance points.
Breasia Coit paced the Blue Bears with a dominant effort, posting 17 points and 19 rebounds, nearly carrying Livingstone with her energy on both ends of the floor.
Nielle Reaves added 12 points, while
Damaria Moree contributed 7 points and 4 rebounds off the bench.
Talia Trotter led the way with 18 points and 6 rebounds, attacking the paint and converting 7-of-9 free throws. Nevaeh Colon added 14 points, knocking down both of her three‑point attempts and going a perfect 6-for-6 at the line.
Livingstone struggled from the field, shooting 25.7%, and was limited to just 2–for‑16 from three‑point range. Fayetteville State countered with balanced scoring and strong inside play, winning the rebounding battle and converting 26 of 33 free throws.
The Blue Bears will be back at home on Valentine's Day — Saturday, Feb. 14 — as they host Claflin University in a doubleheader. The women tip off at 2 PM, followed by the men at 4 PM.
