Livingstone Falls in Heartbreaker at Lees-McRae, 73–70
Banner Elk, NC – Livingstone College came up just short in a nail-biter Tuesday night, falling 73–70 to Lees-McRae inside Williams Gymnasium. The Blue Bears led 37–32 at halftime and battled through eight ties and 14 lead changes in a game that went down to the wire.
Livingstone controlled much of the first half behind strong inside play, shooting nearly 46.88% from the floor and dominating the paint. Omarion Bodrick was a force, posting a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Kenneth Tyree Jr. added 12 points.
The second half saw Lees-McRae surge behind Cedric Patterson, who poured in 26 points, including 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Despite outscoring Lees-McRae in bench points (41–17) and winning the rebounding battle (37–40), the Blue Bears couldn't overcome late turnovers and clutch shooting from the Bobcats. Livingstone falls to 2–4 overall and 0–1 in CIAA play, while Lees-McRae improves to 3–4.
The Blue Bears will keep their road swing going as they head to Bluefield, WV to take on Bluefield State on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 4 PM.
