The Blue Bears Winning Streak Snapped by Virginia Union

Richmond, VA- The Blue Bears saw their three-game winning streak come to an end Saturday afternoon, falling 79-49 to Virginia Union in the CIAA opener at Barco-Stevens Hall.

The Blue Bears (3-3, 0-1 CIAA) kept it close early, even taking a brief lead in the first half, but trailed 29-21 at the break. Virginia Union (5-1, 1-0 CIAA) exploded in the second half, outscoring Livingstone 50-28 behind hot shooting and relentless pressure.

Key Stats & Highlights

Omarion Bodrick led Livingstone with 10 points, three rebounds, and two blocks.
Jemez Herd Jr. added nine points and two rebounds.

The Panthers dominated the glass with 46 rebounds and scored 23 second-chance points. Bobby Gardner paced Virginia Union with 14 points and six rebounds, while Malachi Dark added 13 points.

The Blue Bears will look to bounce back as they hit the road to Banner Elk, NC to take on Lees-McRae College on Tuesday, December 2^nd, at 7:30pm.
