Blue Bears Fall to Shaw 69-66, Preparing for Road Matchup Against Johnson C. Smith

Salisbury, N.C.- The men's basketball team had a close 69-66 loss to Shaw in a hard-fought game.

James Nipper led the team with 15 points, shooting 3-6 for three pointers and contributing 2 rebounds and 2 assists in 34 minutes of play. Paul Tako added 15 points as well, including 2 three-pointers and 3-5 from the free-throw line, along with 9 rebounds.

King Ijeoma chipped in 12 points and 3 rebounds, while Trey Minard contributed 11 points, including 2 three-pointers.

Jamal Cannady Jr. finished with 7 points and 6 assists, while Donovan Leak and Chandler Collins-Johnson each added 2 points off the bench.

The team battled throughout the game, but Shaw's late push was too much to overcome. The Blue Bears will look to bounce back on the road against Johnson C. Smith on January 21 at 7:30 PM.
