SALISBURY, N.C. - After an over week-long break, the Blue Bears were back in action Friday afternoon for a doubleheader against Claflin. Livingstone struggled to get going offensively, ultimately dropping both games of the doubleheader. 11-3 and 8-0, respectively.
Game One
After giving up a handful of runs early, Livingstone struck back.
Natayah Abdul-Hakim found open grass through the left side for an RBI double, scoring
Symone Abraham. Two batters later, a hard-hit ground ball by
Cianna Bullock forced an error and helped bring home the team's second run with Abdul-Hakim crossing the plate.
Khala Porter kept the scoring party going with a deep shot to right field that resulted in a triple and brought home
Trine Bracey who came in to pinch run for Bullock.
The Panthers held the Blue Bears from there and would hold on for the win.
Game Two
Claflin's pitching held Livingstone scoreless as the Blue Bears struggled offensively. Ailani got the start in the circle and managed six strikeouts in the loss to the Panthers.
Next Up
Livingstone returns home for the first time in nearly a month, as they play host to Benedict College on Wednesday, April 10 for the first of three home doubleheaders this week.
