Salisbury, N.C. - Livingstone women's basketball played host to Shaw Saturday evening for their second matchup of the season. Freshman
Nielle Reaves put the team on her back, helping to get the team back in the win column, defeating Shaw 68-62.
With the win, the Blue Bears improve to 5-13 (3-11 CIAA), while Shaw falls to 11-12 (6-8 CIAA).
Reaves only played for 18 minutes but played a large role in the victory, managing 11 points in regulation but ultimately playing her best ball in overtime. After Livingstone quickly fell behind by two in the extra period, Reaves would go on to hit three consecutive three-pointers to give the Blue Bears a late five-point lead, 66-61, which Shaw were unable to take back. She'd total 20 points on 6-18 shooting including 6-10 from beyond the arc. Junior
Thalia Carter managed a great game herself, netting 16 points of her own while grabbing nine rebounds.
