Bluefield, W.V.- The Lady Blue Bears suffered a heartbreaking 71-70 defeat against Clarion University in a thrilling contest on Sunday. Despite a strong performance from
Morgan Kelson, who once again led the team with 26 points and 15 rebounds.
Kelson shot 10-of-22 from the field and 6-of-9 from the free-throw line, adding 2 steals. Her dominant performance kept the team in the game, but Clarion managed to edge ahead in the closing seconds.
Thalia Carter added 10 points, 6 rebounds, 1 block, 4 assist, and 1 steal, while
Bria Griffith contributed 9 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Blue Bears will continue their road trip as they head to Dahlonega, GA, to compete in the UNG Nighthawk Classic, presented by Bryan Properties. They will open the tournament with a game against the University of North Georgia at 6 p.m.
