Victoria Onozie (11 pts), Livingstone women;s basketball dropped an 81-80 overtime decision to Elizabeth City State's Lady Vikings inside the R.V. Vaughan Center Thursday evening (Jan 9).
Livingstone got off to a cold start falling behind 7-0 in the first period. Turner broke the drought with a made three-point basketball with 8:18 left.
Darra Walker dropped another trey to cut the early deficit to one point.
Both teams combined for 48 points in the first quarter with LC holding a two point lead (25-23) at the end of the first stanza.
The second quarter was half as productive with both teams scoring 12 points each and Livingstone holding a 37-35 lead at halftime.
The game featured eight lead changes and ended regulation play, tied at 74-74.
ECSU took advantage of a strong inside game to take control in overtime and capture an 81-80 decision.
With the loss, LC falls to 5-8, CIAA: 3-4, ECSU improves to 7-8, CIAA: 3-2
Livingstone continues its extended road trip when they travel to Raleigh to face St. Augustine's on Monday (Jan 13) and Shaw University on Wednesday (Jan 15).
