Despite playing its first home game in a week, Livingstone's women's basketball could not remove the lid on the basketball goal, especially in the second half, falling to Johnson C. Smith 63-48 Saturday afternoon in New Trent Gym.
LC canned 10 if 223 field goals in the first two periods but could only make 6 of 22 attempts in the second half, opening the door for the Golden Bulls to streak to victory.
JCSU out rebounded the Lady Blue Bears 43-21 for the game earning 46 points in the paint to Livingstone's 20.
The Golden Bulls also got 20 bench points to just seven for LC.
JCSU led 17-11 at the end of the first quarter, but Livingstone stormed back to tie the score at 28-all at halftime.
The Golden Bulls pulled away in the third period (18-11) thanks to the shooting woes of the Lady Blue Bears.
Livingstone only scored nine points in the fourth quarter and Johnson C. Smith pulled away.
The loss drops LC to 7-9 (CIAA: 4-5) while JCSU improves to 7-9 overall (CIAA: 5-3)
Livingstone continues its brief home stand when they host St. Augustine's on Wednesday, January 22.
