Softball falls to Shaw

RALEIGH  – Livingstone College women's softball team fell to the Bears of Shaw University on Saturday afternoon at Worthdale Park. The Lady Blue Bears fell in game one 16-3 and 9-0 in the final game.

Shaw opened contest, with an 8-0. However, Livingstone cut the Lady Bears lead to six after scoring two runs in the second inning.   
LC (0-16, 0-8 CIAA) scored one more run on a passed ball but Shaw came up with three runs on two hits to take a 12-3 charge heading into the fourth inning. The Lady Bears mustard a total of four runs in the bottom fifth in route to the five-inning run-rule.

In the second game, Shaw opened up a 6-0 lead in the first inning.

The Lady Bears scampered three more runs in the bottom third with a double.

For the Lady Blue Bear Lauryn Gray went 1 for 3 on the day with a triple, while LeAndre Glenn and Alexus Franklin each had an RBI.
