Tennis Falls to Pfeiffer in Season Opener
Misenheimer, NC - The Livingstone women's tennis team fell to Pfeiffer University by the score of 9-0, Monday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center.
In doubles play, Maggie Henderson and teammate Mariah Mason loss their No. 1 doubles match to the Falcons. The No. 2 and No. 3 doubles of Simone Mitchell and Bria Hunter loss 8-0, Jasmyne Bell and Paula Ngunza fell 8-0.
At the No. 1 flight Henderson suffered a 6-2, 6-4, decision, while Mason was dealt a 6-0, 6-0 match at the No. 2 spot. Mitchell, Paula Ngunza and Jamyse Bell dropped each a 6-0, 6-0 frame before Bria Hunter kept it close, losing 6-1, 6-0.
The loss drops the Lady Blue Bears to 0-1 on the season.
Livingstone will look to recover with a contest versus Virginia State Sunday, Mar. 10 in Salisbury, NC at 1 p.m., as they host the CIAA Roundup.
